Day 01: Flight from Kathmandu to Bhutan, Paro airport and drive to Thimphu


You will get on an hour-long flight from Kathmandu (Nepal) to Paro (Bhutan) enjoying the view of Himalayas. Followed by that are an hour and a half long scenic drive to Thimphu, the modern capital of Bhutan.

Day 02: Explore Thimphu and Overnight at Thimphu


You have the full day to explore the beautiful city of Thimphu. You will be visiting Buddha Dordenma, National Memorial Chorten, the Traditional Paper Factory, and the School of Arts and Culture. Each of these sites reflects the rich Buddhist culture of Thimphu.

Day 03: Drive 6-7 hrs from Thimphu to Trongsa


You go from Thimphu to Trongsa while driving for around six to seven hours. On the way, you’ll be passing through scenic countryside landscape. Get ready to see vibrant terraced fields and pasturelands with yaks crossing through Pele La Pass (3423m).

Day 04: Explore around Trongsa Dzong and monasteries and overnight in Trongsa


Starting early in the morning, you start exploring important architectural monuments. You begin with Trongsa Dzong which is the largest fortress in Bhutan and combines large two-storied traditional houses and garden area. Other attraction sites in Trongsa include Ta Dzong Museum and Jigme Singye Wangchuk National Park.

Day 05: Drive from Trongsa to Bumthang, Overnight in Bumthang


For the fifth day, you drive from Trongsa to Bumthang for around three and a half hours. Your journey will be full of scenic natural beauty overlooking the high hills and forests among which lie the Buddhist monasteries and few local houses.

Day 06: Bumthang Sightseeing and drive to Punakha (6-7 hrs)


Day six includes sightseeing in Bumthang. Covered with ancient cultural architects, Bumthang has Jakar Dzong, Kurje Lhakhang, Jambey Lhakhang, and Tamshing Lhakhang. After driving for 6 or 7 hours, you reach Punakha to spend the night.

Day 07: Final day at Bhutan, transfer to Paro Airport and fly back to Kathmandu


You can spend the final day in Bhutan shopping for souvenirs, before transferring to Paro Airport. You will then take a scenic flight back to Kathmandu from Paro. As per your interest, you can spend rest of the day exploring Kathmandu Valley.

This day marks the end of the 7 Days Bhutan Explore Tour. You will be escorted by our company’s representative to Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) for departure.

The Trekking Group

For Bhutan Cultural Tour we will have 2-10 people on each group and there will be one tour Guide on the tour package. On budget tour package and Guide service includes tour guide only.

Accommodations

Amble Himalaya use Woodapple Hotel and Spa or similar hotels in Kathmandu for your accommodation. During the tour we will be using the A and B grade hotels. Single supplement will be served on request and will cost an additional USD 340.

Meals

Depending in your chosen package, Deluxe Tour package includes Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner where you can enjoy authentic Nepalese food in Nepal and the more common international cuisine (Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Indian, etc.) in Bhutan. Budget tour package only include Breakfast and Guide Service package includes no meals. Breakfast and dinner will be served at same lodge you will stay and hot lunch will be served along the way. Farewell dinner will be provided to all packages at Kathmandu on your return from Tour.

Visa confirmation letter: Your visa for Bhutan will be organized by us prior to the start of your trip. For this, you must send us a color copy of your passport and two passport size color photographs.

By land: You can use two overland points to enter/exit Bhutan. You can enter Phuntsholing in southwest Bhutan from the Indian state of West Bengal. From Phuntsholing, you have to take a 6-hour drive to Thimphu. You can also enter Bhutan from Samdrup Jongkhar in the southeast which is 110 km from Guwahati, India.
