Ghorepani Poonhill Trek is one of the most exciting and enjoyable treks in Nepal. It is a relatively easy trek which is more inclined towards enjoying the beautiful environment and ethnic villages. Ghorepani Poonhill combines the beautiful scenery from the rhododendron forest and breathtaking views of the Himalayas on the backdrop.

Ghorepani – Poonhill Trek starts with your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport. After a brief stay in Kathmandu, the trip begins. During your stay in Kathmandu, you will be visiting several historical landmarks and cultural heritage sites. This visit includes the UNESCO world heritage sites like Basantapur Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, and Bhaktapur Durbar Square. You will also be visiting the monkey temple “Swayambhunath ’’ and the famous Buddhist stupa “Boudhanath’’. The flight to Pokhara is filled with amazing sceneries of high mountains. One can enjoy the breathtaking sunrise from Poonhill, walk through the wonderful rhododendron forest and witness the warm hospitability of the locals.

One of the best trekking routes in Nepal, the trek package not only allows you the opportunity to enjoy the exquisite views of giant snowcapped summits like Dhaulagiri (8167m) and Annapurna (8091m) but also allows to explore the local villages and be a part of the local culture. Day 01: Arrival to Kathmandu (1,350m)


The trip begins with your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport. One of our representatives will come to pick you at the airport. You will then be transferred to the hotel by a private van or car.

Day 02: Drive to Pokhara


After an early breakfast, you will head to the airport and take your flight to Pokhara. It will be a scenic flight of 25 minutes. As you descend, you can see the beautiful lakes and forests. You can enjoy the evening at Lakeside in Pokhara. Overnight at hotel.

Day 03: Drive to Nayapul and trek to Hile


Early in the morning, you will take a taxi or car to Nayapul. You will then trek for the beautiful hill town of Hile. Hile is a town famous for its local culture and hospitality. There are several lodges, shops, and restaurants which you can explore in the afternoon. Overnight at lodge.

Day 04: Trek to Ghorepani


Today you will trek uphill while enjoying the views of the surrounding mountains. You will cross the rhododendron forests and streams to arrive in Nangethanti village. After a lunch break there, you will cross the forests and go up to Ghorepani village. Overnight at lodge.

Day 05: Trek to Poonhill and back to Nayapul then drive to Pokhara


It will be an early morning trek from Ghorepani to Poonhill. You will enjoy the panoramic views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, and Himchuli with the beautiful sunrise that Poonhill is famous for. In the spring, you can see the blossoming rhododendron which surrounds the landscape. Then you will trek back to Nayapul. From there you will again take a taxi or a car and drive to Pokhara. Overnight at hotel.

Day 06: Drive back to Kathmandu


After breakfast, you will take the flight back to Kathmandu. You will then be taken to the hotel. After lunch, you can visit other tourist hubs in Kathmandu or can go shopping. In the evening, you can just chill out at Thamel and enjoy the local bands performing there. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 07: Final departure from Kathmandu


After breakfast, our representative will take you to the airport 3 hours before the flight schedule. You will then take your flight back home / next destination.

The Trekking Group

For Ghorepani Poonhill Trek we will have 1-14 people on each group and there will be one Guide, and assistance guide per 4 trekkers and porters for carrying luggage (2 trekkers: 1 porter) only on the Deluxe trek package. On budget trek package and Guide service includes trek guide only, if you need porter can request separately.

Accommodations

Amble Himalaya use Woodapple Hotel and Spa or similar hotels in Kathmandu for your accommodation. During the trek we will be using the best available trekking lodges and teahouse with attached bathroom where available and common bathroom at higher villages. Single supplement will be served on request and will cost an additional USD 340.

Meals

Depending in your chosen package, Deluxe Trek package includes Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner where you can enjoy authentic Nepalese food as well the more common international cuisine (Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Indian, etc.). Budget trek package only include Breakfast and Guide Service package includes no meals. Breakfast and dinner will be served at same lodge you will stay and hot lunch will be served along the way. Farewell dinner will be provided to all packages at Kathmandu on your return from Trek.

Ghorepani Poonhill trek is a moderate kind of trekking which does not require previous trekking experience and is suitable for people of all age groups who are moderately fit. Some physical fitness activities such as running, swimming and walking are recommended before your Ghorepani Poonhill trek. People with pre-existing medical conditions must seek advice from their doctors before considering the trek. Whilst on the trek, it is common to experience some discomfort, but you will be acclimatized throughout the trek.

For airport pick up and drop off, and Kathmandu visit we use private vehicles of various categories such as cars, vans, micro, bus etc., depending on the size of the group. We take a domestic flight from Kathmandu-Pokhara-Kathmandu.

ATM and credit card facilities can be used only in cities like Kathmandu and Pokhara. During the trek itself, you need to have some cash with you as ATM services are not available in the remote villages, and payment is only acceptable in cash.

You should carry Nepalese Rupees on the trek as teahouses will never accept foreign currencies. You’ll be only spending for hot showers, charging batteries, additional drinks and snacks, and the purchase of curios. Please note that it is illegal to purchase antiques in Nepal.

Sure. You can stay as long as you want. We feel a holiday should not be concluded until you feel content. As per your request, we can add some days to your trip with additional costs to cover guides, hotel, transportation, and other expenses.
