Indus Valley Trek Itinerary

After an early morning flight to Leh, we will spend rest of the day relaxing and resting in order to acclimatize to the altitude. In the evening, explore the Leh Bazaar. Overnight at hotel.

Leh is located at a high altitude, so it's important to take some time to acclimatize before starting the trek. Spend the day resting and drinking plenty of water to adjust to the altitude.Leh is a fascinating town with a rich history and culture. Take some time to explore the town, visit the local markets, and enjoy the local cuisine. Some must-visit attractions include the Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa, and the Hall of Fame museum. On our way to Hemis, we will visit Shey Gompa—the summer palace of emperors of Ladakh, Thikey Gompa—the most beautiful monastery of Ladakh, and the Hemis Monastery—the largest monastery in Ladakh. Today will give you a good idea about the Indo-Tibetan influenced religion, culture, language, and food. Overnight at Hotel.

On our way to Yangthang today, we will be going through one of the most beautiful trails in this region. En route, we will visit Likir Gompa, which houses around 120 monks. Our trek starts as we leave Likir for Yangthang. We cross two low passes—Phobe La (2700m) and Charaste La (3800m) to finally reach Yangthang. Upon reaching overnight at Hotel.

We will be trekking down from Yangthang to Shukpachan today. On this trail too, we will be rewarded with beautiful scenic views of the mountains. We will visit the Rizong Monastery along with other temples that are very famous amongst the locals and tourists alike. Overnight at Hotel.

Today, we make our way to Temisgam and will be witnessing breath-taking sceneries along the way. The familiar landscape reminds of a bygone era and makes us loosen ourselves in the vastness of this Himalayan landscape. Upon arrival in Temisgam, we will visit Avalokiteshvara and other Red temples in the evening. Overnight at Hotel.

Today after breakfast, we will walk to Lamayuru where we will explore the Lamayuru Monastery and Alchi Monastery. After that, we will drive back down to the town of Leh. This ends the walking days for us. Overnight at Hotel

Indus Valley Trek FAQ's

India has a diverse geographical region, so it depends on where you are going and what you want to do there. You can visit the southern part of the country in the winter months (November to March). The temperature is mild and you can enjoy the nature in the national parks. We do not recommend you to visit the northern part of the country in the country as it would be really cold up there. However, if you go north during winter, you can always do bird watching as the migrant species arrive in this period. During summer (April to June), the temperature is mild in the south. You can go for a beach holiday or cultural tours in this region during summer. Summer is also best season to visit the Himalayas in the north. Summer is considered a good time for game viewing in the north.

It is safe to travel to India like other foreign location you visit. You will find very hospitable and helpful people in India. You don’t have to worry about your tour. We will be there to guide you adapt to the country. You should keep your spare currency, traveler’s cheque, passports, and precious jewelry safely in the hotel. Also, you should be careful while walking around alone at late night in small towns because streets are empty early. We suggest you pack light cotton tops, shorts, and trousers for your visit to India during summer. You need to pack some long-sleeved cotton tops for game drives if you plan to visit national parks in India. You should pack warm clothes while traveling to India in the winters. We advise you to include the clothes suitable for the weather and temperature of the area on the particular season. Also, remember to pack some long skirts and pants while visiting religious monuments and shrines.

Sure, you can easily use your Visa and MasterCard in India. However, American Express, Dinner’s Club, and other international cards are not accepted in India. We recommend you to carry Indian rupees while you are going out of the main cities to the small places.

You can find ATM counters linked to the international networks in the main cities and smaller towns. However, you must have a four-digit PIN code for your card to use the ATM in India.

You can have Indian cuisine with several variations from each region with its own techniques, ingredients, and spices.
