Trishuli River Rafting Overview

Trishuli river rafting is a short four-day trip away from hustle and bustle of Kathmandu valley. It lies at the west of Kathmandu. Trishuli rafting offers big, bouncy, fun and splashy rapids. Trishuli River has class 2-3 rapids which make rafting suitable for all age groups. It offers rapids of varying difficulty levels, making it suitable for both novice and experienced rafters. The rafting trip usually takes about 2-3 days and passes through scenic landscapes and remote villages. The best time for rafting in the Trishuli River is from September to December and from February to June.

Enjoying the scenic landscape of each side of the highway, you drive on Prithvi Highway alongside Trishuli River from Kathmandu to Charaudi in Dhading district. You take on the boat on the same day after getting a briefing and some basic rafting training by your river guide at the put-in point. The two days rafting on the intense Trishuli River is guaranteed to fill you with the adrenaline rush.

Moving along with the giant waves and diving from cliffs into Trishuli surely makes for many photographic moments and memories. You return back to the capital with one of the most interesting adventure sports checked off the list. Most of the rivers are closed for rafting during the monsoon season but that is when Trishuli attract more rafters, as the intensity of the rapids increases and become more exciting and challenging.

Day 1: Drive from Kathmandu to Charaudi, raft up to Kuringhat: 4hrs drive

Day 2: Raft up to Simaltar and drive back to Kathmandu: 4hrs drive

Trishuli River Rafting Itinerary

A scenic drive through countryside landscape to Charaudi from Kathmandu, following Prithvi Highway alongside Trishuli River. Upon arrival, you will be briefed about the sport and practice pedaling before getting on to the boat. Then, you will have a fun filled afternoon of propelling, steering, and pedaling in the raft through the hard hitting waves of Trishuli River. You can also opt for cliff jumping to add to the thrill. Overnight in a camp at the bank of Trishuli river

In the morning, your guide will take you on a walk to the nearby village. Then, you get on the boat one again, and reach Simaltar playing with the waves of Trishuli River. You will freshen up in Simaltar, from where you will drive back to Kathmandu with the scenic view of Trishuli River by your side.

    Rafting is an adventure sport, so it has its risks, but we take various majors to mitigate those risks for you to enjoy the adrenaline rush without the fear of being injured. We brief you about the dos and don'ts before you start rafting. We provide you with a life jacket and helmet to avoid serious injuries. Our team members are on their toe to rescue you in case you fall or get seriously injured. There is no fun without a little uncertainty.

    Yes, absolutely. We have previously catered to non-swimmers, and we encourage people who want to overcome their fear of water to take part in one of our rafting sessions and come out stronger than ever.

    All of our river guides have undergone training and are certified under the provisions of Government of Nepal. They are highly experienced, and they know the river.  

    We do not run our rafting packages in contaminated water. While the color might look muddy, depending on the season, the fast-flowing river cleans itself; hence you needn't worry about getting allergies and falling sick.

    You needn't have any specific skill to partake in rafting. A short training is given at location before each rafting session. You just need to pay attention and follow the rules.

    You just need basic fitness to be able to raft. However, you need to be prepared to propel, steer, and recover your raft, so you might need some physical strength.

    There are a maximum of 7-8 people in a raft to avoid crowding and to maintain balance of the raft.

    Pack light. Wear comfortable clothes for rafting. Bring a pair of slippers and a set of clothes to change after the water adventure.

    We have a professional photographer to document the thrilling adventure through pictures and videos. You can purchase the photo later in the day. But, it is up to you if you want to bring your own camera. The company will not be liable to any damage.
