Kathmandu Lele Godawari Mountain Biking Itinerary
Day 01 of the Kathmandu, Lele, and Godawari mountain biking trip begins earlyin the morning.This is a popular track among biking enthusiasts in Nepal. The tour begins in Kathmandu and makes its way to Lalitpur from where we will move on to Lele. A quiet and beautiful little village not very far from the city, Lele has a famous temple called Tika Bhairab that we will be visiting. The southern part of the Kathmandu valley is just 14kms from Lagankhel. We will mostly be biking uphill in lush green areas and passing through multiple settlements, we then make our way to the Godavari which is in the Southern-East part of the valley and is famous for its botanical garden housing plants of various species. Many trout farms are also found along this way. We will be accompanied by hills and will be passing through a lot of vegetation, these jungles are also famous for hosting some wild big cats. The day's ride is expected to take around 6-7 hours. Overnight in tents/hotels.
From Godavari we will make our way to Kathmandu today via Patan. The route takes you through beautiful forests and along winding roads, with the chance to take in the natural beauty of the area one last time.The ride is mostly downhill and less challenging than the previous day, allowing you to enjoy the ride back to Kathmandu. You will make a few stops along the way to rest and take in the views. As you reach Patan, you will take a detour to visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Patan Durbar Square.. Patan is a historical city and is famous for the Durbar Square where the Old Kings had their palaces. Kept under the UNESCO world heritage sites, Patan also has some distinct stupas built by the emperor Ashok, when he visited Lalitpur. Seeped in history, Patan is like traveling back in time thanks to its majestic temples and the pagoda style of wood architecture. From here we will make our way to the end point of this trip in Kathmandu.

The required level of fitness depends on the trip you choose as we offer a wide range of mountain biking trips depending on your health condition and biking experience. For novices, we operate easy tours on flat roads, whereas, for intermediate and advanced riders, we offer more challenging trips on the off-roads of various parts of Nepal. We can recommend the ideal trip for you if you let us know about your physical fitness.
The type of bike needed can only be decided once you choose the trip. You might need to use downhill, all-mountain, or cross country bike depending on the terrain. We offer you a selection of bikes to be used for the biking trip. You need to book the bike in advance as the high performance bikes are limited in number.
We organize a well-equipped workshop with an expert mechanic to train you on handling break downs. But in other conditions, your biking guide will help you overcome the problem.
You need to bring bike clothing, walking or biking shoes, a waterproof and windproof jacket, a pair of warm clothes, and other personal items.
The best time to go mountain biking in this region is from September to November and from March to May. These months offer the best weather conditions, with clear skies and mild temperatures.
