Sunkoshi Rafting Itinerary

On the first day of the Sunkoshi rafting trip in Nepal, you will travel from Kathmandu to Dolalghat, which is the starting point of the rafting journey. The journey from Kathmandu to Dolalghat takes around 3-4 hours by bus and passes through scenic hills and traditional villages. Upon arrival at Dolalghat, you will meet the rest of your rafting team and receive a brief orientation and safety talk.From Dolalghat, your rafting begins after a basic training and practice session. Playing with the waves of the roaring river, you reach Khalte Chayenpur where you will be camping for the night.

On the second day of the Sunkoshi rafting trip in Nepal, you will start rafting from Khalte Chayenpur to Likhu Khola. This section of the river is relatively calm, allowing you to become comfortable with the rafting equipment and techniques before the more challenging rapids ahead. During the rafting journey, you will have the opportunity to admire the stunning scenery along the river, including lush forests, rolling hills, and traditional villages. After several hours of rafting, you will reach Likhu Khola, where you will set up camp for the night.

Your journey begins from Likhu khola and you will reach you to harkapur in your 3rd day of rafting. The rapids get more challenging as we raft towards Harkapur from Likhu Khola. As you navigate the rapids, you will also have the chance to spot various wildlife along the river, including monkeys, eagles, and other birds.You would need to be extra careful for you might come across boulders as the whitewater rapids turn torrential which is equally exciting for you. Following the expertise of the river guides, you reach Harkapur thrilled and safe. Overnight in a camp

Rafting through the rapids, you enter the Dudh Koshi River confluence. As the river widens below Dudh Koshi River, you notice that the water is much colder than that of Sunkoshi. This section of the river offers a mix of calm stretches and exciting rapids, providing a balance of relaxation and adventure.Enjoying the exotic countryside landscape, you reach Rasuwa Ghat to camp for the night. On the fifth day of the Sunkoshi rafting trip in Nepal, you will continue rafting from Rasuwa Ghat to the Jungle Corridor. This section of the river offers a unique experience as you raft through a dense jungle, surrounded by lush vegetation and wildlife. You may also have the opportunity to swim and relax in the calm sections of the river. Working your way through huge boulders and splashes of the river, you continue rafting on the white water rapids to reach Jungle Corridor. Overnight in a camp

Starting slow, the rapids get bigger and longer as you head to Big Dipper. Big dipper, as the name suggests, is one of the highest currents you will be facing in the whole rafting experience. This section of the river features some of the most challenging rapids of the trip, providing an adrenaline-filled experience for experienced rafters.Enjoy rafting through narrow canyons and furious rapids, and the water splashing your face. Today, you will get to have a natural shower under the waterfalls whilst rafting on exhilarating rapids. The landscape starts changing as you raft through the gorge. You will camp near a waterfall and relax for the day

It is the last day of your rafting. The last major rapid you cross today is quite challenging and needs cautious monitoring, so make sure you follow the instructions of your river guide strictly. After that, the river flattens and you float to reach the confluence of Arun, Tamor, and Sunkoshi rivers in Chatara. Overnight in a camp at chatara.

In the morning, you visit Baraha Chhatra, a sacred pilgrimage site for the Hindus of the region. You then drive back to Kathmandu, leaving Chatara and Sunkoshi River behind, with fond memories of the adventure.

    All of our river guides have undergone training and are certified under the provisions of Government of Nepal. They are highly experienced, and they know the river.

    We do not run our rafting packages in contaminated water. While the color might look muddy, depending on the season, the fast-flowing river cleans itself; hence you needn't worry about getting allergies and falling sick.

    You needn't have any specific skill to partake in rafting. A short training is given at location before each rafting session. You just need to pay attention and follow the rules.

    You just need basic fitness to be able to raft. However, you need to be prepared to propel, steer, and recover your raft, so you might need some physical strength.

    There are a maximum of 7-8 people in a raft to avoid crowding and to maintain balance of the raft.

    Pack light. Wear comfortable clothes for rafting. Bring a pair of slippers and a set of clothes to change after the water adventure.
