Kathmandu – Pokhara – Chitwan Tour Itinerary
On the second day, you will have a full day tour of the three UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu: Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, and Swayambhunath. These are religious and cultural landmarks that represent the rich history and diversity of Nepal. You can explore the ancient temples, shrines, stupas and learn about the unique cultural practices and beliefs. Overnight in Kathmandu.
After breakfast, you will drive to Pokhara, which takes about 6-7 hours. Along the way, you will pass through beautiful hills, rivers, and small towns. Pokhara is a scenic city located by the side of the Phewa lake and surrounded by the Annapurna Himalayas. You can take a leisurely walk by the lake, enjoy the panoramic views, and visit the local markets and shops. Overnight in Pokhara Hotel.
Early in the morning, you will drive to Sarangkot, a popular hill station located about 30 minutes from Pokhara. Sarangkot offers stunning views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges, and you can also see the sunrise from here. Afterward, you will return to Pokhara and continue sightseeing in the city. You can visit the Bindabasini Temple, Davis Falls, and the Gupteshwor Mahadev cave. Overnight at hotel.
After breakfast, you will drive to Chitwan, which takes about 4-5 hours. Chitwan is a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its wildlife and natural beauty. Upon arrival, you will check into your hotel and take some rest. Later, you can visit the nearby Tharu village and learn about the unique culture and lifestyle of the indigenous Tharu people.
On this day, you will have a full-day jungle safari in the Chitwan National Park. You can choose between an elephant back safari, jeep safari, or a walking safari. The park is home to a variety of wildlife, including tigers, rhinos, elephants, deer, and birds. You will have a chance to observe these animals in their natural habitat and learn about their behavior and ecology. At evening, you can enjoy elephant bathing in Rapti River.
After breakfast, you will drive back to Kathmandu, which takes about 5-6 hours. Upon arrival, you can do some shopping or explore the city on your own.
